Fatkin has been appointed by a public sector client to develop a feasibility study for a new Transport Hub at a key destination in Bedfordshire. The Hub will provide car parking and EV charging alongside active travel facilities for staff and visitors, and will be coordinated with local public transport including buses and train services including a new station development.

Fatkin carried out a detailed analysis of the client’s existing parking provision. We then tested a wide range of options around the client’s site to help identify the most appropriate location for the development. This included consideration of physical constraints, planning policy and highways impact. As part of this, Fatkin reviewed the scope to remove and reprovide or relocate existing buildings within the client’s estate.

Working in 3D from the very beginning of the project enabled Fatkin to provide massing visuals and diagrams to help explain the proposals and review the impact on the existing site and neighbouring properties.
