Faktin provided architectural and planning subconsultancy services for the design of a cafe and an additional surface car park providing a 109 car parking spaces and 28 secure bicycle spaces at a crematorium in Eastern England.

The café includes a kitchen, seating for 25 covers and a WC, and was designed to facilitate future expansion as demand grows over time. The outdoor spaces around the building were an integral part of the scheme, providing a range of conditions for visitors in meeting, waiting and contemplation situations, with sheltered canopies and orientation for solar gain and views out across the flat countryside.

The construction of the café building was designed to be suitable for modular construction, minimizing the disruption and noise on site that could be caused by building works. Highly insulated fabric and the provision of a green roof would reduce ongoing energy demand and running costs.
