A new three storey rear extension above the existing lower and ground floor rear footprint of a mid-terrace property. The internal layout is reconfigured to enable the property to be divided into a one bed first floor flat and a second and third floor maisonette to the rear. The existing front elevation of the building remains unchanged.

Whilst the property itself is not listed, it sits within a Conservation Area, which sets limitations to the development of the rear elevation. The proposed alterations are designed to be in keeping with the Local Authority Guidelines, and to retain the character of the Conservation Area.

The proposed rear elevation was carefully designed to not exert an overbearing influence on the neighbouring properties and to remain within the original footprint of the property. The materials were selected with respect for the character of the Conservation Area.
